David Bellamy - GOLDWelcome aboard and straight into Gold. You tick all the boxes - wow, what a park! Your assessor and your visitors think you are the best. Keep up the good work. You are a perfect example to others. We've repeated this achievement, winning Gold again in 2006 and 2007.

Sunset Park is a very green environmental park because of its structure and general layout. It attracts all forms of wildlife and quite often one sees foxes, rabbits, all species of birds and ducks roaming freely. The country walks all around the park are very pleasurable and in our opinion is quite deserving of an award.

Sitting by the lake watching the sunset, listening to the ducks and birds going about their daily chores one cannot imagine anything as nice as this beautiful park. A real credit to all the management and staff.

We have stayed here at Sunset Park for the past 6 years and in this time we have seen quite a few changes. It's obvious that the planting has been carried out in an environmentally friendly way with a view to attracting butterflies and bees and other wildlife. The small lake in the centre of the park has attracted ducks and wild fowl and has quite a few species of fish. The grounds are kept clean and tidy and area a credit to the directors.

I would strongly recommend this park for the award. Over the years much has been done to increase the protection of the natural environment and the support of wildlife. For example planting of trees to encourage butterflies, Created "Africa" an area of peace and tranquility to come, drink and be fed. Life around the pond for ducks etc. Recycling bins throughout the park. I could go on. Sunset is in a nice location. It is one of the best maintained parks in the Fylde area. We have nice grass verges and flowers. Very clean and tidy. We also have a lovely pond which has ducks in it. We also have a lot of other birds. People are very friendly. We are very glad to be here. We like it very much.

Sunset should be awarded. The park is maintained to a high standard and nestles sympathetically with surrounding farm and stable grounds. The park provides recycle facilities, play areas, ornamental and games areas. Wildlife comes freely to the park encouraged by flowers and facilities for them.

Having travelled to many parts of the British Isles and to many parks, Sunset would be our vote to your Conservation Award scheme. It is one of the nicest, cleanest, well-kept parks I have ever been to in Britain. Beautiful gardens, plenty of trees, flowers and greenery and not forgetting wildlife. A pleasure to visit and to stay at. Must be seen! |
